About Sunday School Direct
Sunday School Direct® is a family-owned ministry serving churches worldwide. Founded by former missionaries Jack and Susan VanSciver in 1985, the business has been a trusted partner to churches for decades. After the VanScivers’ retirement in 2019, Julie and Shane Murphy took over, continuing the mission with the same passion: to equip churches with the resources they need to grow their ministries and spread faith globally.

Our mission has always been to make Bibles, Sunday school curriculum, and other ministry supplies easily accessible to churches. Serving your ministry needs is our top priority. By providing these essential materials, we aim to partner with churches in advancing their mission and supporting their spiritual growth.
Get to Know Our Family
Shane and Julie met at Grove City College in northwestern Pennsylvania and married in 2012. When the opportunity arose to join Sunday School Direct, it felt like the perfect fit for their passion for God and commitment to serving the local church. With hearts devoted to ministry, they have found Sunday School Direct to be an ideal way to support churches and ministries worldwide while helping adults, students, and children grow in their relationship with Jesus. Shane and Julie currently live in State College, PA, with their three young children: Finn, Asher, and Juniper.

Sunday School Direct is truly a small, family-owned and operated business. Robbie, our Shipping Manager, and Kate, our Customer Service Director, are not just part of the team—they’re Julie and Shane’s brother and sister-in-law! Together, we manage the day-to-day operations behind the scenes, working as a family to support churches and ministries worldwide.
